Merman and Mermaid

I found these big serving spoon and fork one day a the thrift store and instantly I thought of mermaids ..the spoon and fork were perfect for mermaids! The spoon and fork sat in my studio for a few weeks while I created more angles until I had no more small spoons to create with. I pulled out the serving spoon and fork, found some beautiful material I had purchased recently from the fabric store and set out to create  The King And Queen of the Underwater Kingdom of Allegra.

They've Evolved

They've evolved into something more ,I love the new added touch of jewelry and ribbons and feathers and wool. I love these angels. I say that after everyone I create but these girls are so beautiful .

The two newest owl's I've created for the Owl collection..yeah there's so many of them now it's a collection !  I have two more in the works then I'm all out of books :( 

I guess then I'll either have to go on a old book search or find something new to create.

The Veteran

Well I guess my creative block is gone, because I'm in the art studio and I'm creating not just one piece but I've got several going at once.
This piece is titled : "The Veteran"

I had a hard time trying to photograph this one, I guess that's what I get for using a light signal for a head? hehehe:)

Faith and hope

I made it to the art studio today, but once I got in there and settled in to work..I didn't have anything to give. I was not feeling creative, I was not feeling anything at all! What a bummer ,after taking a break from the studio for this long I thought I'd been rearing and ready to create.. I decided I'd get online and search for some inspiration and thought maybe it would help.. But it didn't, which is not surprising .. since looking at other artists' work does not inspire me . I prefer to work from my imagination and my own outlets rather then coping someone else's work . I did decide that maybe I need to take a break from creating the bottle assemblage art I've been creating for some time now and maybe try something different.    I left the art studio, and did a few things around the house ,ate lunch and went for a walk..then came home and headed back into the studio and tinkered around with a few pieces of art ..that were works in progress... also known as .. art I abandoned because I couldn't figure out where it was heading!

Well here's what I got done.
This beautiful angel is titled "Faith"

These three pieces are not titled just yet, but I thought I'd share anyway. I take that back my youngest just named one of the pieces... The large one with the 3 on it..is titled  :"The magic number"

Assemblage of Marie Antoinette

I sat down today in the art studio prepared to complete the two pieces of art I had started yesterday,but I just couldn't find the right pieces of junk to complete them so I moved them aside and pulled out a piece I had started a long time ago. I had only gotten so far as to wrap a bottle in material. Today the piece was speaking to me and it said Marie Antoinette. So I got busy going thru all my junk and materials to see if I had what I needed to create her and it turns out I did. Heres the photo shoot I did with Marie Antoinette just moments ago....

Gone Country

 There once was this city girl who met ,fell in love and married this good ole country boy. The two traveled and lived all over the world until one day the good ole country boy retired and wanted to move home to the country. The city girl was not too excited about the move until she realized she could have chickens and vegg gardens and could grow an orchard of fruit trees ... the city girl then got real excited and embraced her move to the country and now she can honestly say it was the best move ever! She's gone country.

The Duke meets The Duchess

                                               "The Duke"

This is a love story of how The Duke and The Duchess met one another.

The Duchess a high class society woman new to the area and recently widowed was at the event of the year with her ladies in waiting in tow. It didn't take long before The Duke spotted The Duchess in the rose garden 

She was looking radiant, and The Duke could not allow this perfect moment to pass him by. The woman of his dreams was right before his eyes..He ran from the study where he had been smoking cigars with the foreign leaders and rulers . The Duchess was enjoying the garden when she went to round the corner into the great lawn she bumped into the most handsome man she had ever seen... The Duke

He was so regal and handsome she could barely take her eyes off of him,after she realized she had been staring she started to drop her eyes to the ground. The Duke was quick to catch her chin before she could    and he tilted her chin back up to meet his eyes... It was love at first sight . The two stood in complete silence for what seemed like eternity  and before they could even exchange names they were locked in true loves first kiss.  It wasn't even hours later and the two were exchanging wedding vows and beginning a new life together.

And the happy couple lived happily ever after

Latest works of art

Sorry it's been awhile since I last posted, I was in a bit of a funk and wasn't feeling very creative. But it seems a good day of junkin' and finding old bottles and goodies will pull me out of it!
This past week I had a commissioned piece to do. We ended up doing a barter since the person I did the work for had a great junk pile and I was allowed to dig into his collection and got myself a 5 gallon bucket full of bits and pieces to create with. Here's the piece I created for him.

Then I got busy with this beauty..I call her 

"The Duchess"

Then I had this idea to use some of the antique photos and post cards I collected while living in The U.K. ..and came up with these three pieces.

I call this one "Just a spoonful"
