Christmas Ornaments

I've got two more Christmas ornaments finished.

I love the hand beaded wings, but man do they take forever!!

(close up view) excuse the little piece of fuzz on the left wing , I didn't check for fuzz before I photographed....opps!

I tried something new with these wings, I call them the pompom wings.

I was going to try to bead them, but the material I used unraveled too much and caused 

so many strings that the beads and thread got caught up in .. so I decided no beads for this one. 

I tried tea staining the wings, but only the tips of the material took to the effect ... not sure why,but must be the type of material it is.

Well I am headed back into the studio for the day,I can't play too long in there as I have to make homemade lollipops today.

Christmas Ornaments

I spent most of yesterday working on this beauty. 90% of my day was spent hand sewing all those tiny blue beads onto the wings..it took me four hours!! But well worth it if you ask me!! I am working on more and will post them as I finish them.

Half Pint

I am finally finished with my cowgirl, I've been working on her all week long , mostly waiting for glue to dry before moving on to the next section of her body.

This beautiful cowgirl is made from a crystal candle holder, a vintage colander ,a vintage half pint milk bottle,some baby doll arms,a large metal nut or something of that nature? and lastly a burnt out light bulb for her head. Her added touches are odds and ends found in my art studio ... I think I'll call her "Half Pint"

No good junk

I was in the art studio creating ,but I can't seem to find any good junk in there to finish off a project with! Boo :(  I guess it's time to hit my friends and family up for some junk!  I am heading in a new direction with my art... changing it up a bit and in doing so ... it calls for more junk and more stuff . I guess I'll spend some time this weekend hitting up yard sales and thrift stores for some goodies to create with.  Until then I'll see what I can come up with ,with the junk I already have.

Junkyard Fairy

Had to post two pictures as one photo had too much of a shadow ,and the other was too grainy!

Boy I need a new camera! My daughters camera does not like to play nice with me. ; )

This morning a beautiful junkyard fairy was created in my studio. I know a few junkers who would love to have her !
